The new Dragonfly Integra for 2019 is designed for the Elite player looking to maximize their athletic potential. Engineered for the most dynamic player, Dragonfly Integra features the same technology you would expect from the Dragonfly name. One of the newest features in this year shaft is our HD resin, we have been working with our material suppliers for over 2 years on the latest improvement to our process and improvement in resin technology. This new resin combined with our proprietary manufacturing process, allows us to output an even better shaft with improved durability. Dragonfly Integra comes in a Charcoal Gray and is now available in multiple geometries. You can now choose from our C30, E30, or X30 shapes and flex options iQ5 and iQ9.
We developed Torque Box technology to maintain the continuity of the shaft’s geometry and maximize energy transfer to the head during a pass or shot. As a lacrosse shaft moves during the act of shooting, the force generated puts stress on the fibers causing the shaft to flex. As a conventional composite shaft flexes, the natural geometry of the shaft can be compromised initiating ovalization of the shaft, resulting in the loss of energy. Epoch exclusive Torque Box Technology works by making specific changes to critical carbon fiber layers to minimize this phenomenon. Torque Box technology improves and optimizes the transfer of energy in the shaft, maximizing performance and playability.
When passing or shooting, a load is introduced to the shaft causing it to flex back, which causes the carbon fibers to be stretched along the front of the shaft and compressed along the back. Reload Technology takes advantage of this situation by using low F.A.W. (Fiber Areal Weight) and high-modulus carbon fiber, which creates urgency for the fibers to return to their natural position for maximum recoil
Highly engineered “gritty” textured topcoat, which allows for consistent grip to be maintained in all weather, while also allowing the shaft to move freely through your hands
The Dragonfly’s Uniform Release point is designed to maximize shaft performance by creating a natural kick-point or flex point just above your top hand, when shooting and passing.
The Dragonfly Eight Dragonfly utilizes unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg with a lower F.A.W. (Fiber Areal Weight) than conventional shafts. These smaller, lighter fibers allow for a tighter orientation of the carbon fiber. More fibers equals increased durability.
We achieve flex by manipulating the orientation of the carbon fiber. Our shaft’s bend when you need it to, but retains its firmness for maximum control. Conventional shafts that tout flex often use fiberglass, a cheaper, less durable material, to increase the bendability. Don’t sacrifice your game, choose Epoch.
Our Advanced Carbon Layering (A.C.L.) is what separates Epoch shafts from conventional composite shafts. By layering low F.A.W., uni-directional carbon fiber pre-preg in a specific manner we can control several aspects of the shaft’s performance, including flex, durability, weight and release point.
